The Interview
What are the three most important characteristics you need for your job?
  • a never-ending curiosity – down to the detail. But then of course one must be pragmatic. The ability to see the story, to zoom in and zoom out, and see the whole picture is very important.
  • Persistency – close every open (significant) question. Sometimes to get the answer, one must be creative (think outside of the box) as well.
  • An extremely structured way of thinking.
What did your first boss teach you that you still use today?

My first boss thought me to build various complicated forecasting models (simulation) for one of the biggest banks in Indonesia (our client at that time), using excel. Throughout my career, this skill has been developed further, and I am still using it in my current job.
